Everyone struggles when they are in need to find a skilled laborer for day-to-day chores. Whether we need a plumber, painter, carpenter or electrician, we find it difficult to find the best match for our requirement at the right time. At the same time, many skilled laborers in the local areas struggle to find a source of income by selling their skills. Particularly for the skilled laborers in remote areas, the only mode of promotion of their skills is by word of mouth.

Challenges

In order to cater to this challenge, Dr. G.L.Wijesinghe pioneered the concept of introducing a single platform that connects skilled laborers with the customers.

These are the key objectives that were identified.

-Connect skilled laborers with the customers

-Enhance visibility for different service sectors.

-Ensure revenue growth

Solutions

In order to meet the above-mentioned key objectives, we developed a web application that boosts brand visibility and service visibility. The service providers have to submit a police report, GS report and other necessary documents when they are getting registered with Anywork.lk. This enhances their reliability and the customers can hire them without any doubt. Moreover, the customers can compare various profiles and select the best  service providers for them

The laborers also have the opportunity to get registered online and also they can manage their profile if they need to make any changes to their current working location or time.

Result

This web application development facilitated cost-effectiveness and convenience for both customers and service providers while ensuring business growth

 

 

Ultra Tech

Project

UltraTech Cement Lanka (Pvt) Ltd is a joint venture between UltraTech Cement-India and Ceylinco Insurance PLC in Sri Lanka.  Located in Peliyagoda, UltraTech has a wide dealer network that covers the entire island.

Challenges

The major challenge faced by UltraTech was the lack of a proper system to handle the group of lorries that come to purchase cement. Before developing the web application, the lorries would come to the factory premises without booking an appointment and the lorry drivers would have to wait for 2-3 days to get their order. The major crisis faced by lorry drivers is thieves steal parts of their lorries when the owners are not around.

-Proper communication with the customers

 

Solutions

In order to address the above issues, a web application was developed. Through this user-friendly web application, the customers can book a token according to their convenient time. This innovative platform also enables the management team to get real-time stock updates.  Furthermore, the management team can manage the number of tokens they are issuing for the day according to their production capacity.

Wijesekara

Project

Wijesekara Construction is a construction company that handles construction sites around the island. As the construction company is rapidly advancing with the latest technology, their main priority was to revolutionize their operational procedure.

Challenges

The major challenge faced by Wijesekara Construction was the lack of a proper system to monitor the resources of multiple sites. As there were several supervisors were assigned to handle the operation of one single site, the cost was high. All the operational processes were operated manually and the time consumption was too high.

-Maintaining proper coordination between multiple sites

-Live site updates without delay

 

Solutions

In order to address these issues, the Web Lankan team worked closely with the Wijesekara brand to develop a user-friendly mobile application. The supervisors assigned to each site were given access to the mobile application and all the mobile applications were linked to the site which is handled by the management team.

This mobile application is designed with many options such as employee attendance, leave request, advance payment request, machinery usage, temporary labor and service usage, bill of quantities, total work summary, etc. Employees’ check-in and check-out times can be easily marked just by taking a photo of the employee. Supervisors can approve leave requests and advance payment requests easily by connecting with the management team through this platform and it is easy for them to access later.                       With the machinery usage option, managers can find out how long rented machinery has been used and through the bill of quantity option, they can get a deep insight into the total cost of materials.

Result

This mobile application development facilitated cost reduction, time saving and business growth within a short time period.
